Our specialty grade coffee is sourced from the growers around the world and of a pure Arabica variant.

The list of coffees below reflects, current availability and price inclusive of VAT. Please note that this list changes due to the seasonal nature of speciality coffee we have limited quantities per year.

Our most popular coffees

We have a number of coffees, but have found that the most popular in order of how bodied they are, are

Mild Yirgacheffe A uniquely mild coffee with lemony after taste. Grown in the Northern highlands over 2000m above sea level in the province of Sidama
Limu Coffee as nature intended it. Coffee from the forests from the Limu province is the original coffee. This wild coffee is a very distinctive citric taste
Medium Bunna Now our most popular Blend! Looking for good value and a balanced taste, this is the one for you then. This is a drink all day blend.
Excelsor This coffee is popular for the classic coffee drinker, not too over powering in the mouth, and delicate to the noise.
Full Asorganica Being organic is one of its features, but it is full bodied, and can tolerate the addition of milk and sugar.
Relationship A blend in equal proportions of the Virmax Relationship coffees, it works well in the automatic coffee machines.
Special Los Idolos This relationship coffee is better than ever before. One of the best coffees we have tasted for a while.

Making the grade

We find our coffees tongue tingling, so what makes them so special:

  • We continually sample pure Arabica based coffee from a number of special growers and their representatives from around the world.
  • These coffees are typically shade and highland grown, in the tropics.
  • From those coffee we taste, we select only the finest specialty pure Arabica beans.
  • We roast each coffee to multiple roast levels and profiles and we taste it. Of the 100's we taste, we select a few that tingle our tongues the way it would tingle Frog Quaffer's.
  • Finally, from those that make our grade we roast them using a unique profile that we have identified exposes each coffee's unique nuances.
  • Importantly we cool the coffee down with air, slowly and gently so that the coffee retains all flavours.

  • VAT INCLUSIVE prices are displayed only.
  • Save on Delivery in Cape Town. order more than 2kgs - saves R18.75 per delivery.
  • For coffee inclusive clients please refer to your monthly guidelnes.
  • Outside of Cape Town - there is a minimum charge of R65 for the first 10 kilograms, thereafter it varies, or send counter to counter at about R25.00 per kilogram.
  • Please note that due to the nature of Specialty coffee we may not have stock, refer to this site to check if what is in stock.

Full-Bodied and Earthy Coffees500g1kg
Antigua, Guatemala/images/flags/GuatemalaFlagS.jpgFrom the central highlands of Guatemala, this coffee is has malt on the nose and a medium body with a tinge of caramelised almonds. It has a delicate after taste which is sweet a hint of citrus. We think this Guatemalan is well balanced with slight detection of a "spicy twist".109.73219.45

Fairtrade Los Idolos, Colombia/images/flags/ColombiaFlagS.jpgThere are a number complex flavours on the nose when tasting. Initially a vanilla butter is detected then brown sugar comes through. On drinking there is a Mild brightness and then syrup comes through. The coffee is Medium to full bodied, with a lingering after taste, that is fuller.156.75313.50

Dark and Balanced Coffees500g1kg
Bromelia Fancy SOLD OUT/images/flags/CostaRicaFlagS.jpgUTZ Certified coffee from the highlands near Palmares, Costa Rica. The cherries the trees produce are of the same colour red as found in the famous Bromeliaceae family of flowers, a species native mainly to the tropical Americas. This coffee has a dark earthy tone, and dark chocolate notes.99.75199.50

Freshness is key

The only way to serve and enjoy fine, mountain grown, Arabica coffee is fresh roasted. We fresh roast all our coffee and also work with you to match your usage to the freshness of the coffee, so that you can enjoy our coffees at their finest.

We focus on fine coffees and therefore ONLY sell in whole bean form. We believe that selling coffee ground would be like selling champagne uncorked
